How It All Started...

My father was a highly decorated police officer in British India, multiple Presidential Gallantry Award winner who tamed the wild Chambal Ravines. To the world, he was a fearless hero, but to us, his children, he was a doting father with an elephantine memory. After retiring to a quiet life as a farmer, at our insistence, he’d gather us siblings under the stars, recounting his daring encounters with dacoits.

Each tale was a masterpiece—dates, times, names, places, every detail etched with precision, delivered with a storyteller’s magic. We memorised them, spellbound, yet they never lost their thrill, identical in every retelling.

We often dreamed of capturing his stories in a book, a treasure to hold forever. But we weren’t writers, and back then, there were no computers, no AI—just his voice and our longing. When he passed, that treasure slipped away, buried in the sands of time. His stories began to fade from our hearts, and I was left with a piercing ache—his vibrant life, once so vivid, now a whisper I couldn’t preserve.

That loss birthed WeaveMyStory.com.
